Recently (July 2013) it was announced that the NSA has been data-mining social networks and other online companies and extracting videos, photos, emails, documents and more. Some companies agreed to and have freely given the government access to everything you have posted (and continue to post) onto their servers. The government says they are using the data to find and collect evidence on terrorists and people involved with espionage or other illegal activities.
